The Parishes of All Saints Herstmonceux and St. Mary Magdalene Wartling safeguarding Details

What is Safeguarding?

Safeguarding is important in any situation whatsoever, domestic, work, church or school, because it protects vulnerable people from harm, abuse and neglect. Safeguarding also helps to prevent crime and exploitation, promote equal opportunities, build trust and confidence, and fulfill legal obligations

In our churches we are committed to implementing all safeguarding policies and practice guidance issued by the House of Bishops.  The full details of the C of E Safeguarding Policy, 'Promoting a Safer Church' can be found >HERE<

If you have any concerns regarding safeguarding in ANY situation whatsoever, domestic, business church or school or even if you have a suspicion that someone is being abused or is at serious immediate risk in ANY of these situations, PLEASE DIAL 999. The Police website is >HERE<.  To get help and advice about a wide range of issues and situations regarding children you can contact the NSPPC >HERE< For concerns regarding adult abuse please click >HERE<  For sexual abuse support in Sussex, in any situation whatsoever, however and whenever it occured, please click >HERE<

If you are experiencing domestic abuse then you may be able to seek help at your local pharmacy by asking a member of the staff for 'Ani.'  You can tell if they are participating in the codeword scheme if they have the 'Ask for Ani' poster in the window.  They will offer you a private space, provide a phone and ask if you need support from the police or other domestic support services.
